9:00 a. m.- Author Readings by local authors. Immerse yourself in a day filled with captivating stories, interactive book readings, and creative play. Meet and greet talented local authors who bring characters to life and celebrate children’s literature.
Crafts, Painting, Games, photo opportunities, and Children’s books from our favorite local authors available for purchase all day.
Pet Partners of Acadiana Buddy Read
10:00- Join our furry friends in a heartwarming reading adventure. Our pet partners reading pairs children with gentle, trained therapy animals eager to listen to stories. Bring your own books.
Kid’s Cooking Demo

Sweet Reads Poetry Contest
The Books Along the Teche Literary Festival, The Iberia Parish Library, and The Daily Iberian are sponsoring the Sweet Reads Poetry Contest for children to celebrate the 2024 Books Along the Teche Literary Festival. Children in grade four through grade six may put in their best efforts. The poem may be written on lined paper or typed and attached to this application.
April 6, 2024 -12:00 Noon- Sweet Reads Poetry Contest Awards Ceremony. Pick up an application at any branch of the Iberia Parish Library or click on the link.
Prizes will be awarded as follows for each contest:
First Place- $40 gift card, certificate
Second Place- $25 gift card, certificate
Third Place- $20 gift card, certificate
Honorable Mention- $ 15 gift card, certificate
