Swamp Sounds: A Swamp Pop Revival

Saturday, April 11

6:00-8:00

We carry the energy and insight of Swamp Sounds: Echoes of Music and Dance Traditions in Louisiana into an unforgettable evening celebration in support of the Books Along the Teche Literary Festival. Following the presentation moderated by Yvette Landry — featuring Shane K. Bernard, Herman Fuselier, and photography by Philip Gould — this event brings their stories to life with a showcase inspired by classic swamp pop. The evening’s music pays homage to the region’s rich Francophone heritage, echoing the rhythms and traditions that have shaped Louisiana’s cultural identity. Enjoy live music by Grammy-nominated The Revelers, dance lessons led by Britlyn Delahoussaye, and a Cajun dance competition that celebrates the rhythm, roots, and timeless joy of Louisiana’s musical legacy. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.

Participants will enjoy Cajun fare and live music.
In the event of inclement weather, the party will be held at Sliman Theater, 129 E. Main St.
