The Books Along the Teche Literary Festival will return April 10–12, 2026, and we’re inviting artists to make their mark! Submissions are now open for the official artwork of the 2026 Festival.

This annual contest celebrates the art of Southern storytelling and the beauty of the Teche region by spotlighting one talented artist whose design will represent the festival across posters, programs, merchandise, and more. The winning artist will also receive a $500 cash award.


DESIGN CRITERIA

  1. Theme: Professional-quality design celebrating Southern storytelling and the Teche region
  2. Size: 16” x 20” (vertical orientation), full color on canvas
  3. Medium: Acrylic or oil
  4. Process: Four-color print process
  5. Note: Do not include a title on your artwork—this will be added later if selected

ARTIST CRITERIA

  • Open to all artists except the 2024 poster contest winner
  • Only one entry per artist
  • Must be able to deliver artwork to one of the designated drop-off locations by the deadline

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Attach a sealed envelope to the back of your artwork with:

  • Your name, address, email, and phone number
  • The following signed and dated statement:
    “I give my authority to warrant full ownership thereof to the Iberia Preservation Alliance.”

AWARD & OWNERSHIP

  • Winning artist receives $500
  • Selected design becomes the property of the Iberia Preservation Alliance (IPA)
  • Design may be reproduced on all festival-related materials and merchandise
  • Proceeds from merchandise benefit the Festival and/or IPA

ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • Winning artist will be notified shortly after the deadline
  • All artists will be notified and must pick up their artwork by Friday, December 12, 2025, at noon
  • Unclaimed entries become the property of the IPA
