UL Symposium on James Lee Burke’s “A Private Cathedral”

A Private Cathedral: A Triptych.  Howard Kingston, owner of Books along the Teche notes that A Private Cathedral has garnered more questions and discussion than any of the 22 other Dave Robichaux novels.  Its meandering plot, examination of personal and collective evil in multiple time periods, and Dave’s continuing struggles with his own humanity raise questions that should inspire lively conversation.  Howard Kingston, owner of Books Along the Teche bookstore,  long time friend of James Lee Burke and inveterate  reader of Burke’s novels, will join Sally Donlon, PhD and Claire Manes PhD in a discussion of the book with attention to topics such as love, evil and Dave’s private cathedral.  The symposium will be held on April 10, 2021 from 1-2:30 at the Sliman Center.  Covid protocol will be followed and required.
